Had a really nice LR yesterday, 16 @8:23 with a couple 7:55s at the end.  Was gorgeous outside, took my 20 oz. handheld and drained it empty.  Still holding out hope that they’ll turn the fountains on eventually.  My only irritation for the run was thinking “hey, my thighs are smaller, let’s see if I can get away from needing Bodyglide”.  Uh, no.   My chub rub is very much still in existence.

Speaking of,  now that my weightloss/push-up adventure is in maintenance mode (albeit with the new addition of chin-ups) it’s as good a time as any for some documentation.
Overall, I’m really pleased, though some stuff will always suck -  like no matter what I do, I can’t make my skin be any younger, so I’ll forever be floppy in my butt and upper arms, but considering I look better now at 47 then at any other point in my life, I’ll take it.

OK, been putzing enough around here enough today, time for my run.  7 or 8 miles with 8 hill sprints.   See you later!

well you look better than I do!

  • Barb:

    You look like buttah!

  • Damn, you’re hawt! ;)

  • Christi:

    You look great!!!!!

  • Check you out! You need to start the two hundred sit ups now to get the major six pack going.

Have people been bugging you about being too skinny? I have heard it from a bunch of people lately (including DW). Maybe it’s more a guy thing since guys are expected to be slobs.

    You look great.

  • Flo:

Thank you, my lovely friends. :xo I’m sure you all could take a similar picture, just stand in a shadowy room so everything gets dramatically accentuated. :-)

Progman, I’m sure you look fantastic. When are you posting a new After shot for your blog? As you can see from my thighs in the pic, I’ve still got some meat, so while I’ve gotten a lot of “small” or “lean” comments, nothing in the mode of having gone too far. Nick has asked that I not go any lower though, so I’m satisfied to stay where I am (around 116-117.5) instead of trying to hit my original goal of 114.

  • Fun to read, pleasant to look at, increasingly hard to catch!
I get an occasional “You’re not planning to get any thinner, are you?” from Cathi, but she’s mostly in favor of skinny-me.

  • Girl, you is ripped. I wish I looked that good. I’m still, quite literally, hauling ass these days. Although yesterday’s 22 mile opus was a major milestone in that my chub rub days seem to be behind me at last. Look, ma, no inner thigh stubble burn!

  • What a coincidence — I’d take that too! ;)

Sounds like an outstanding long run you had too, with a couple of exclamation points at the end!!

  • Flo:

Aw shucks, more thanks and kissing emoticons, you lovely people. :xo

  • I have been too chicken to try my Nike Free’s yet. I am looking at this week being my highest mileage week so far, and just picture trying something new being the kiss of death. One of these days (it was almost today) I will put them on and do like 2 miles just to try them.

Do Asbury Park – you would have plenty of time before Philly, by then you’ll be running 100 miles weeks anyway :)

  • Flo:

Good point, you have to be careful about integrating those. Do write a review when you get to it, I’m interested. Congrats on the high mileage week. Thanks for the Asbury invite, but I’ll be doing a 10k that weekend. Sounds like fun, though.

  • You’ve got a bod better than a 20 year old! You’re hard work and healthful eating have paid off. Awesome and inspiring!!!

  • mirnr:

OMG! Washboard ! Look at those guns! Can you photo shop my head on your bod? Wow. Okay, just send me your daily plate food diary and excercise regimen.

  • Flo:

And more hugs to you guys for such excellent props, you make a gal feel great (and all blushy)! :xo

  • Rebecca (LA Runner):

Wow! You look awesome! Cute, smiling face, too! Keep running strong.

  • WOW – that’s nearly all that I can say!
You give me the hope that I can be as attractice, slim and trained as you when I turn 47 – still 14 years to go!
And I would like to change my ‘younger’ skin for your whole body… not a deal, hm?

  • I’ve been following your blog, and must post today to say that you are now officially my inspiration for getting back in shape! You look like you’re 20!

  • Flo:

Thanks Rebecca, Caroline and Jasmin! Jasmin, can you throw in your youthful butt, too? I’ll take it! Caroline, thanks for piping up, lurker!

  • I don’t think that you really want my butt!!! You haven’t seen my butt and you know, you should not buy what you haven’t seen before… *LOL*

  • I’m late to the party, but you look hot!!

You have inspired me to get back into running. I ran most of a 5k for Thanksgiving and then lost my rhythm around the holidays. But now I want your body! ;) Week 2 of the Couch to 5K program starting tomorrow… :)
