…to the cute runner girl this morning who, as we passed, said, “I read your blog!” You’ve no idea what a boost of joy that gave me! Only one other “stranger” has ever told me that, so big hugs to you for letting me know and for reading this stuff in the first place.

I swear, when I started the blog I figured it’d only be of interest to middle-aged women who, like me, started running later in life. I am grateful to every single one of you people; young, old, male, female, who take the time to hang out here. You make it insanely rewarding to put my thoughts down, so big silly kisses to all y’all!

Anyway, ’twas a fine 14. Did the museum loop and back, so took one handheld (refilled twice), clip-on gel flask with 2 Hammer gels and an S-cap before leaving, then another about an hour in. It was 80 degrees when I started at 6:38 and 85 by the end, so I was a wet clump about halfway through, but pace was right on target – Pete Pfitzinger would be proud.

And with that, have a great weekend everyone, see you in a couple days. I leave you with one of my new smilies, though I can’t quite figure out what a tongue hanging out signifies, it’s cute. :p

Ahhh, that’s so cool! You’re a running blog celeb! =D

  • blog reader:

    You’re welcome!

Running blogs keep me motivated – regardless of age/pace – and yours is especially cool since we run in the same area!

    See ya around :)

  • “cute runner girl” sure you werent looking in a mirror?

If I see you on run I will remind you I read your blog.

PS, got a short race report from Presque Isle half on my blog.

  • Flo:

Hey kids. Kai, no you!! You of the incredible not just running but beautiful food blog. A little birdie told me you might be baking for a Philly FE, so I’m there, whether I’m running the race or not! :D

Blog Reader, here’s to motivation! And you’re right, it doesn’t matter what package it comes in, it’s about getting out there, doing the workouts and improving. If I had a “cheers” emoticon, I’d stick it here but too lazy to look for one.

Bruce, aw, ya big complimenter! Great report! You were only a couple minutes less over goal and it was the middle of summer! I’m too chicken to even enter a race in this weather, so fantastic job on the Half…well done!!

  • Pokey:

    Flo,
Well, I fit the profile for sure, but I’d read you anyways, cuz you’re so fun and funny! :)
    muchos besos–Pokey

  • Flo,
I think the tongue hanging out signifies that it is too hot to run! But that doesn’t stop us resident crazies. Soooo, now your picking up cute runner girls from the street to fill your blog space? Some people will do anything to be popular, LOL.

  • I meant you’re!

  • Flo:

Besos back, Pokey. You’re my kinda gal. :D

Tobey, so funny about the tongue, that’s the perfect explanation. Funny too about picking up cute runners, today it was a cute English guy, so I’m equal opportunity. And don’t worry about the typo, I know you would never write that most heinous “your” for “you’re” if you weren’t drunk.
