It’s 6am, pitch black out and I’m looking at the weather, thinking “tempo or no tempo?”. The fact that it’s already 80 degrees and tomorrow at this time will be about 70 has decided it for me: Tempo tomorrow.
On the amusement front, the twins I talked about in the last post, Steph and Linds, replied with the best head-trip ever, they ran together yesterday specifically to have me see them in one place, at one time. LOL! I couldn’t stop laughing as they approached and was relieved that it wasn’t one girl messing with my head all this time. Great job ladies, you had me grinning like a crazy person the rest of the way home.
One other little amusement, at least to me, is that the next time you read this blog, I’ll be a much wiser and more thoughtful writer than ever before. OK, scratch that, though I will definitely be a more mature one, seeing as how I turn 49 on Monday. Yikes. Thank god for running, with its ability to turn a potentially anxiety, depression-filled occasion into only mildly irritating that I’m not turning 50…the better to kill in a new Age Group. Let me say this again: Thank god for running.

ahhh Happy Birthday Flo!! Age is only a state of mind (so I keep telling myself too!). Have a GREAT weekend and enjoy the cooler temps. I know I will.
And I just have to give a quick thanks for all your nutrition/food entries. I have been using some of your tips and it is working! SO COOL:) I am consistently down about 2 lbs over the past month. and really don’t even feel like I’m trying.

I tell ya, the runners I have met in races I have run this summer at the shore in NJ, the 50yr old age group, for the males, is tough! Those guys were running 18-19min bracket for 5k’s! Enjoy the 40′s for another year!

Loved the twins story. Happy 49! You look great, and it truely keeps getting better. I just turned 55 last week and am psyched about the new AG. There are still some very fast and competitive women in the AARP brackets! ;-)

Really…what are cockles? And I agree on the manipulating comment about the early birthday wishes. Geeeeez…..well allright then, early happy birthday, happy early birthday or whatever.;-). 49 huh? I do find the ‘you don’t look 49′ comments a bit scary, I know they’re not meant that way but still…how does one look? I really don’t know since I don’t look a day over 34 so there :-). The mlk drive is marked for the half!! I was talking to some guy and he informed me this year the course is the other way like you start up the kelly and around to mlk drive and end right out front the art museum so there is no loop around eakins oval. That should be a nice change up!
Yep, the map is on their site. It’s such a weird change, I’d love to know the reasoning behind it. Maybe it was traffic-related. Fun seeing you gals today (a double-twin though separately day!)
