Well, how did it turn out? Weather seems to mess up so many PR opportunities. I guess that's life, though. I hope your foot is feeling dandy.

ugh, frowns all around about the weather, there's a big 5k up here lots of people I know were really hoping to nail.
Maybe we'll all get lucky with the weather. I'll be thinking of you tomorrow!

I've also taken the scalpel to my shoes. Works better in the summer than in the winter, though. I don't know what kind of feet you have, but if you're more or less a neutral runner (or even a slight overpronator), I can highly recommend the Pearl Izumi Streaks. They are seamless, roomy and don't rub or chafe anywhere.

Good luck on the 10K this weekend. They just moved my planned 25K race on Sunday to next weekend because of the "everything but the kitchen sink" forecast for CT. What a winter we've had.

Of course, if you walk like a duck and talk like a duck you'll, well, be a duck! And you try to cross on a chicken, you'll find out why a duck.

Sometimes I can't resist. And Kind of Blue is better than a Little Blue. Just saying.

Sorry that you have to make adjustments. I've not had problems with my Asics except for a pair of DS Trainers who-knows-what-number that gave me blisters.

My shoe-tweaking adventures mostly involve adding small bits of molefoam under the insole to make it match my foot better. I'm thinking of cutting away part of the cuff on my latest pair of Brooks because the right shoe rubs my talus (ankle bone) when I'm running on a left camber. This will matter at Big Sur.
Sorry to hear about the crappy weather. Good Luck!
