Jim, Jim, Jim...there'll be no sucking next week, you are ready to rumble! Daniels has been good to you, those workouts are insane but boy, do they sound effective. I cannot wait to track your crazy fantastic race, Mr. Speedy Pants.

Bruce, thanks cutie! Hope you're feeling better today.

Julie, what a great quote from a great woman. It was funny because someone just posted a thread on the Training forum, surprised that his/her speedwork had resulted in faster times. I was all, Yuhuh...do the work, the rewards will follow. Cause and effect, it's a beautiful thing. :D

Great Run Flo! I guess 5Ks no longer make you want to die, eh? Your 5K PR is now 0:27 better than mine, and I think I'll let that stand for the time being.

I did my last longish run today. The usual Daniels easy run with a couple of 10-minute tempos embedded. Because it was on hilly trails, I decided to guesstimate the pace and not keep looking at the new toy. So about three minutes in to the first tempo, of course I got curious and peeked, got a big shock: 50 seconds faster than tempo, going slightly uphill! And the lap pace confirmed that it wasn't some momentary weird-ass Garmin thing. Where did THAT come from? So I slowed down just a touch, but was pretty toasted after the second one.
This means two things:
1: Pace groups are my friends, because my pace estimation is still awful.
2: I'd better have a pretty good excuse ready if I suck next week

Thanks Charlie, Dave and Christi, mucho appreciated, you fabulous peeps!!

Hey there Alex, congrats to you, too, missy...great job yourself! (I figured out who you are in the race results since you write better than a 15-year-old. :D )

Progman, it was my dream to pull your namesake, couldn't believe I did. So used to things working the other way (aiming lower, getting higher). With your races lately, I know you'll pull an Uber Progman the next 5K you get to, so no hurry, it's waiting for you.
