I was going to write about my mental state in regards to the coming racing season but after trying to make sense of the mishmash in my head, decided it’s best left to another day. In the meantime, this is probably super stupid and big-headed to think there’ll be anything but crickets emanating from this one but what the hell…
Do you have something you’d like to ask me? Whether it’s about life, love, running, racing, being a middle-aged broad or what have you, ask away. You know I’m an open book as far as life experiences and nothing offends me, so go for it in the comments section if you’re into it and I’ll post some answers on Sunday.
Aside from that, this is officially my shortest post ever. Cool.

Have you ever actually used the empty peanut butter jar?
As a middle-age broad, like myself, how do you know when your period stops if: it is perimenopause, you are training too hard, you got too thin, or you are just not eating enough-without losing weigh-to sustain all body functions with training? Do you even care? Should anyone care? Does it matter? Or maybe your period hasn’t stopped.
Do you think you’ll ever run a full marathon again? Ever considered doing an ultra?
Do you ever run “watch free”? No time…no distance…just run?
Will you ever do Yassos ?
So, why would you say your is your mental state a mishmash?
Ok, seriously now: what is your favorite race experience and what made it so. And if you’ve already blogged about it already, forgive my redundancy!
p.s. would you ever race in Texas?
TEXASSSSSSSS!!!!!! <3
Although you haven’t hit this year’s racing season, can you take a guess at what value the mileage that you’re now running might be? In other words, ‘at 50 miles a week my HM time was X and at 90 miles a week it’s X.’ Also, what do you think your ideal amount of average mileage per week in a build-up might be?
I know you haven’t been racing much lately, but when you do…
Is there a certain runner that you consider your competitor (on a regular basis)? Do you see ALL the women as competition? Do you always run against your own times?
I’m always curious about different runners’ views on competition. Some are only competitive with their own times, but others’ goal is to beat a certain person or fall into a certain finishing place.
I know you sing, act, design stuff and run. Any other hidden talents? Or hidden hobbies?
Why do you blog?
What is the airspeed velocity of an unladen swallow?
You recorded some pretty fast times in your first year of racing. What kind of mileage were you doing then?
Hi, Flo! I love your blog and I am curious about your devotion to the foam roller. I have glute/hamstring issues, especially during longer runs of eight or more miles. Do you have any recommendations as to what type of roller to use and what types of stretches are best? Thanks for any advice you can offer!
Great question Dina, I’ll reply in the next post.
And thanks for playing everyone! That was great fun, loved the questions. Cheers, my honeys!
I was was wondering which aspect you felt helped increase your speed – losing weight, or tougher workouts (15 miler with 8 miles at lightening speed in the middle)? Getting a coach? A combination of many factors? Just wondering what made the difference for you, because I am banging my head against some invisible barrier….maybe you are able to really push yourself during workouts, and I am a slacker *lol*
Sorry for asking late – just saw the post this morning…
Excellent! Thanks for the question, Yvette.
