wow-scary story so glad Nick is okay. I just started biking about 2 months ago and I tell ya, I am really getting nervous about the whole thing. I've heard a lot of horror stories lately-maybe I need to rethink this whole triathlon thing...

:) Yeah, I considered wrapping everyone in styrofoam, but it gets a bit warm in the summer and is that really any way to live? :D Glad Nick is ok, and has a good story to tell!

Thank you, ladies! Yes, he's magically ok, thank god. We went to a party last night where he was able to regale everyone with tales of his mid-air flight. I think he feels properly initiated into the "crash" club now, proud that he rolled loosely enough to come out of it unbroken. Thankfully, he'd never ride without a helmet, so his noggin is A-OK. Sheesh, Pokey, those two incidents would tempt me into locking the front door and not letting anyone out again (including myself, you poor handlebar flying gal).

OMG! Thank goodness Nick is OK! People in cars can be very aggressive, esp. towards cyclists, and I've yet to figure out why! Don't they realize they are driving a ton of steel, for Chrissakes! After having taken a header over my handlebars and kissing the pavement last year and then watching my boy get hit by a mini van in front of the house--the old man is the only one who still rides here. And it is with much trepidation that I watch him leave for his marathon bike rides. Both boy and I are runners now. Still dangerous, but less so because you can SEE the traffic coming, and potentially jump out of the way. Please tell me Nick was wearing a helmet!
