It's a shame those few sentences constitute "puking up" to you. If that's all it takes, you get agitated pretty easily. Anyway, last time I checked, this wasn't a "public forum", it was (and still is) my personal blog. I get to say what I wanna say. You can have a blog and say what you wanna say. That's what's cool about blogs.

Thanks for the comparison to Babs and Charlton Heston (though with the latter's freaky gun views, this blog pales in comparison), didn't think of myself as a celeb blogger, but now I will. ;)

Take care and safe running to you.

Flo,

I am so disappointed. I enjoyed u'r blog so much. But, alas, as soon as someone interjects politics or religion into a non-political "public forum" I am turned off. I was reading a running blog. Now, I might as well be reading a blog by barb streisand or charles heston. Why do ppl feel the need to puke their religious/political leanings? Enjoyed the running stories, tho. And u don't need me as a reader so I'm sure u'll just say good riddance! Good luck with u'r marathon attempt!!

You guys!! For some reason I didn't get email notifications for the last 3 comments or I would have replied sooner.

Bruce, congratulations on the PR!! I know it's not the super-duper time you wanted, but considering the hills, it's an even better PR than on paper. You're getting faster without question! Huge congratulations to you! Enjoy your lazy Sunday. (oh, and I added your blog link to your post, don't know why it was thinking it was spam, sorry 'bout that.)

Lisa, OMG, can't imagine what it's like doing a full in the rain (I'm sitting here, starting my long run late because it's raining right now), the thought is a real stomach turner. Wow, sounds awful, I mean rain is one thing, winds are a whole 'nuther matter. And your Garmin dying must have been another heart attack for you. One thing's for sure, you are now a hard core marathoner, having suffered through such crappy weather. Did you end up with any blisters on your feet?

Hey, I just realized which Lisa you are! :D I saw your "wet marathon" thread on the Marathon Forum. Write a follow-up/report post in there, I'm sure it'll be appreciated by anyone who read the thread (or anyone running a rainy marathon).

Jim, cool about the Half. Just about every major race the women in my Women's BQ thread did this cycle was cursed, 3 of us had heat issues, there was a sprained ankle and I'm sure something else, so please...have a great race for us, won't you? :) Congrats on the long run, too! Sounds cool to be running with an Ultra freak.

Wow, everyone is racing all of a sudden. My turn next week, in the San Jose Half. But today I was just goofy.
Out group run, which is in a different place each week, was starting only 4 miles from home today, so I ran there, and back afterwards. So far so good, but there were two runs on offer: A nice little 6 mile loop, and a 13 mile monster led by an ultra runner. Guess which I did? Total mileage for the day: 21, for the week: 55. Better start tapering tomorrow!

On the debate, I thought one of the PBS guys put it quite well: "Foreign policy is in McCains wheelhouse... He needed a big win, and he didn't get it"

Hey Flo! So glad to read that you are back on track. I ran the Hamptons Marathon today in the freakin' pouring rain-yuk-it was a tough course and with the wind and pounding rain the conditions were just awful. I was 30 minutes off my goal time of 4:15. The only thing i can say is that you are smart to do so many long runs. I think one of my mistakes was not doing enough of them. Oh, and when I turned my Garmin on at the start, it died...even after having been charged. So, make sure (triple sure) that you charge your Garmin in the wall overnight before Steamtown! Ciao-Lisa

Kai, I think last night went well, though not with the "knockout punches" that everyone was dying for, the debate polls say it was a quiet victory. As for Palin, Thursday's debate is going to be delicious, simply delectable in it's "truth will out" factor...I cannot wait!!

Thanks on the training congrats, hope yours is going well (I'm sure it is, loved the pics from your Half, btw.) Also, happy belated birthday, child-thing!
