That "wind assisted" had nothing to do with a certain tasty cereal, did it?

On the mileage front, yeah, it varies between individuals. More is not always better.

Hi Mirnr, girl! Glad you said that about the blog link, I need to add it to my signature.

It's hard to pinpoint what extra mileage does for speed since I've hovered around 50s for awhile, and it goes up and down some; like on a 5K week I'll do 37ish. I'm sure it's a good thing though, the more I run the better it feels to run. :)

I do like 6 days, it's nice having a day off but I'll move stuff around so sometimes it's two days off or no days off in a week. Pfitz was only 5 days a week, so that was a change. The Half plan I'm using next month (Hudson's) goes into 7 days a week, so that'll be interesting, though I can modify it to 6 easy enough.

As for races, check out my "at the races" page on the top of the sidebar, I started putting them in. Busier year than last.

Heidi, yay! on you for taking the day off. It's so hard to do, but all you have to do is remember the people you know or have read about on forums with chronic running injuries. Avoidance is best!

I took today off, which I NEVER do just because. I ran 33 miles two weeks ago and 41 this past week. Wanted to up to about 36 which I did, but a friend was home from out of state and so I ran an extra 5 with her on Sunday, my usual day off. So.............I know I was playing with fire by adding that much (it's a lot for me to add in one week) and my body felt very much borderline this morning.

My knee and achilles were both annoyed with me. It was frickin' hard to do, but I bit the bullet and took the day off. Also forgot, I ran 7 on Monday with 5 strides at the end. So, back at it tomorrow with a tempo run to work off some of the shit I filled my face with today and get a jump start on the massive amounts of alcohol and food I will consume tomorrow.

Haha - Hi GIM I was going to say the same thing, that it was me that you saw! So, I had to search for your blog on google since the new forums don't show your link anymore. I didn't realize you were in the high 40's / low 50's. Did you notice a big speed increase when you increase mileage? Were you running 6 days per week mostly? So do you have some target races for next year? (I'm expecting big big things from your blog next year lol)

If you don't check in Happy New Year!
